Set up IPTV on an Amazon Fire TV Stick

Fire TV runs Android underneath, but Amazon's store does not carry IPTV players, so the app has to be installed manually. That is what makes this guide longer than the Android one — the player itself works the same way once it is on the device.

Your login details are on your subscription page in your account, under Dashboard → Subscriptions. Open the subscription you want to set up and use the copy buttons next to each field rather than retyping them — a single wrong character in a password or URL looks exactly like a service fault.

Allow installs from unknown sources

1. From the Fire TV home screen, open **Settings**.
2. Choose **My Fire TV**, then **Developer options**.
3. Turn on **Install unknown apps** (older devices call this **Apps from Unknown Sources**).

If you cannot see Developer options, open **Settings → My Fire TV → About** and click on the device name several times until the menu appears.

Install Downloader

1. From the home screen, open **Find → Search** and search for **Downloader**.
2. Install it, then open it and allow it storage access when prompted.
3. Back in **Developer options**, make sure Downloader is allowed to install unknown apps.

Install the player

1. In Downloader, enter the address of the player app you intend to use and start the download.
2. When it finishes, choose **Install**, then **Done**.
3. Delete the downloaded file when Downloader offers to — it is no longer needed and it is large.

Only download player apps from the app author's own site. A player from a random file-hosting link is a real risk on a device that is signed in to your Amazon account.

Sign in

1. Open the player and add a new user.
2. Choose **Xtream Codes API** and enter your username and password from your subscription page. If the app also asks for a server address and your subscription page does not show one, contact support and they will send it to you.
3. Wait for the channel list to load.

Make it easier to find

Newly sideloaded apps go to the end of the app row. Hold the menu button on the remote while the app is highlighted and choose **Move to front**, or you will hunt for it every time.
