Set up IPTV on a MAG box

A MAG box does not use a playlist or a username. It is tied to its own MAC address and loads everything from a portal URL, which means the box has to be registered before it will show any channels at all.

Your login details are on your subscription page in your account, under Dashboard → Subscriptions. Open the subscription you want to set up and use the copy buttons next to each field rather than retyping them — a single wrong character in a password or URL looks exactly like a service fault.

Register the box first

1. On the box, open **Settings → System settings → About** and note the MAC address printed there.
2. Add that MAC to your subscription, or send it to support if your subscription does not show a MAC field.

Nothing works until this is done — an unregistered MAG box shows a portal error rather than an empty channel list, which is the same symptom as a wrong URL.

Enter the portal

1. Open **Settings → System settings → Servers → Portals**.
2. Set **Portal 1 name** to anything you like.
3. Paste your portal URL into **Portal 1 URL**.
4. Leave Portal 2 empty.
5. Save, then restart the box from the menu rather than pulling the power.

The channel list loads on the next start.

No MAG box? Emulate one

A portal subscription is not tied to MAG hardware. An Android box can present itself as a MAG using STB Emulator, which is the cheaper answer if you already own Android hardware — the registration step above still applies, because the app has a MAC address of its own.
